VPI is equipped to perform any machine metrology measurement. A typical measurement consists of a XD Laser test, a telescoping ballbar test, and squareness test. In addition to these tests, rotary accuracy measurement and dynamic spindle analysis can also be performed.                                       

Once the data is gathered, a comprehensive report is provided which details the machines condition. This report will explain each test performed, include the data plots for each test, and provide detailed explanation about what repairs or adjustments are required to optimize machine performance. In house maintenance, VPI, or OEM personnel can then perform the repairs. After the repairs and adjustments are completed an additional test can be performed to provide baseline data for future comparison and performance trending. In addition, this approach allows the customer to prepare and plan for any maintenance that may be required.
